The Ghana Enterprise Agency Is Empowering Young Entrepreneurs In Ghana Through The BizBox Project

In partnership with the MASTERCARD FOUNDATION, the Ghanan Enterprise Agency (GEA) has launched the BizBox project under the Youth Entrepreneurship and Employment program ( YEEP) to tackle youth unemployment in Ghana.
The project, which focuses on entrepreneurship, skills development and access to markets, aims to create 250, 000 jobs for young people between the ages of 15-35 by the year 2027.
This initiative is aligned with the Government of Ghana's goal to create 1 million jobs for the youth through entrepreneurship. BizBox offers a comprehensive approach to supporting young entrepreneurs through:
- Training and mentorship programs to develop essential skills
- Access to starter kits and equipment
- Connections to markets and industry players
- Support for business registration and product certification
- Inclusive opportunities for women and persons living with disabilities (PWD)s.
By targeting key sectors such as agriculture and agribusiness, tourism and the creative industry, building and construction, and other sectors with the focus on trades such as welding, baking, dressmaking, leatherwork, auto mechanics, hairdressing, and so on, the objective of the BizBox project is to boost economic growth and enhance sustainable livelihoods for Ghanaian citizens.
The project will be implemented across all 16 regions and 261 districts in Ghana through GEA's 210 Business Advisory Centres and 37 Business Resource Centres.
