Some Things Happen for Good- Kwakye-Ackah
Member of Parliament for Amenfi Central, Peter Kwakye-Ackah, has dramatized his turn, now willing to work with the National Democratic Congress, even after their current parliamentary candidate was disqualified. The Electoral Commission barred Joana Gyan Cudjoe because she had a pending interlocutory injunction against her voter identification.
Kwakye-Ackah, who has since filed as an independent candidate, remains optimistic about the future. On Joy FM's Newsnight, he firmly believed that "certain things happen for good" and stressed that he does not harbor any hard feelings toward the party. "I believe we can work together," he said, reiterating his willingness to surmount the December 2024 elections.
This stance comes despite accusations from NDC Deputy General Secretary Mustapha Gbande, who attacked Kwakye-Ackah for allegedly trying to hold the party "ransom" for personal gain. Grande said the NDC "made" Kwakye-Ackah and should not be held to ransom by any individual.
This follows a court suit against Cudjoe, which compelled the EC to declare her as null and void for the second time. Though Cudjoe had been reelected by NDC delegates in the fresh primary after earlier disputes, the court's injunction was still pending; therefore, her disqualification followed.
