Founder and General Overseer of the Alive Chapel International, Bishop Salifu Amoako, has come to the defence of his son who was involved in the ghastly East Legon accident.

Addressing his congregation at Alive Chapel International on Sunday, October 20, Bishop Amoako defended his son, emphasizing that the accident was an unfortunate event rather than an intentional act of violence.

He urged Ghanaians to show restraint and stop sensationalizing the tragedy.

Bishop Amoako, who claimed that his son was involved in an unexpected and unfortunate accident rather than murder, expressed his intense worry with the public's response. He also asked the people to treat the situation with compassion, emphasizing that accidents, despite their devastation, are not crimes.

"It was an accident. My son did not carry a gun to kill anybody. He involved himself in a terrible accident, and I am not the one who did it, nor his mother. It is my name, that is why people are talking," he stated.

The Bishop added that the only reason the case gained such widespread attention is his (Salifu's) social status.

"If this was an Okada [motorcycle] accident, who would mention it? It is just because it is my name, so keep quiet and let’s see what the Lord will do," he asserted.
