Organized labor, an organization that hosts most of the working bodies in Ghana has been in the news in recent times threatening to remark on a nationwide strike as the government did not heed their demands regarding the issue of galamsey.

The government met with them in person to plead with them but after the meeting, they revealed they would still embark on their planes strike starting Thursday, October 10.

In view of this, the Responsible Small Scale Miners Association have come out to disclose their displeasure over Organized Labor's decision to continue with the strike despite meeting with them to let it slide. According Responsible Small Scale Miners Association, Oranized Labor is planning on the strike because they are under the influence of an opposing political party whose identity they did not reveal.

Speaking to Citi News in an interview on Tuesday, their secretary revealed that they had informed Ghana Police Service of their upcoming protest slated for Friday, October 11. The General Secretary for the association, Mr. mark Conduah added that they did not support illegal miners but that should not be the reason their means of livelihood should be cut as workers under Organized Labor are on payrolls and nothing would affect their income.

"We are coming out in our numbers to demonstrate against Organized Labor that they are not more than Ghanaians than us so they cannot take away our livelihoods. So we are going to demonstrate, to show them that if they are working and earning their livelihoods from government payrolls, we also deserve to mine responsibly and earn a decent living of mining."

The General Secreatry further added that they would be converging in Accra on Friday to demonstrate against Organized Labor as they are proving stubborn and working under the influence of an opposing political party.
