Professor Jane Opoku-Agyeman Warns Volta Will Suffer Like NPP’s Strongholds If NPP Wins
Professor Jane Opoku-Agyeman, the NDC vice-presidential candidate, has urged residents of the Volta Region to vote for the NPP. She emphasized that since they are not part of the NPP’s strongholds, they will not be prioritized in developmental issues.
During a campaign in the Volta Region, she implied that the NPP has nothing to show for its 8 years in power. She claimed that despite the long period the NPP has held office, “their strongholds are crying” because they have not witnessed any substantial development within their communities. “But they have not done any roads, they have not brought any stones, they have not brought any water, they have not brought any fillets, they have not done any hospitals,” she said.

She pointed out that, given this, the Volta Region, which is not a stronghold of the NPP, will likely be neglected if the NPP wins the upcoming general elections. She highlighted, “They have not done anything for them, and you think they will leave them to come and do it for you?”
Professor Jane Opoku-Agyeman further assured the people that education and job creation for the youth are key priorities for the NDC. “We are interested in the children; we are interested in the youth; we are interested in the children, so we don't want them to learn under trees. We build good schools for them. We are interested in our youth that don't have jobs. So, we are bringing the 24-hour economy,” she stressed.
