Police Begin Manhunt for Three Mpraeso SHS Students Over Alleged Gang Rape
The Kwahu Nkwatia Divisional Police Command has begun a manhunt for three male students of Mpraeso Senior High School over their alleged involvement in a gang rape incident. According to reports, the crime occurred on Sunday, October 13, in the Kwahu South Municipality.
A police report implicated eight male students in the attack of the female student. Of the eight suspects, five have been arrested and are likely to go to court anytime soon. Three suspects are, however, on the run, forcing the police to engage in a serious hunt for capture.
The victim, who survived the traumatic ordeal, had already been subjected to medical treatment and subsequently discharged. She is undergoing counseling as part of rehabilitation to get over the shock of this incident.
Management of Mpraeso Senior High School has expressed shock at the event and pledged their full cooperation with the Police. They have assured the public that they are committed to making sure that justice is served while taking measures to restore calm within the school community.
The incident has caused a stir in student safety and misconduct in schools and is still under investigation. The whole incident was one sad reminder that young people must be protected from sexual violence, and that perpetrators shall be punished for committing heinous crimes. Now, police appeal to the general public to help them track down the remaining suspects to bring justice to the perpetrators.
