Reports gathered this morning by Mintah.net indicate that the statue of Ghana's former president, Nana Akufo Addo, at the Effia-Nkwanta Regional Hospital has been vandalized to the ground.
With the images circulating quickly across all social media platforms, it is evident that indeed, the statue has been vandalized.
However, this disturbing action comes following the swearing-in of the incumbent president, His Excellency John Dramani Mahama and many people are suggesting that it is the doing of some folks from the NDC party.
The former president's statue was unveiled in honour of the projects launched during his tenure in office. The project includes the renovation of the Effia-Nkwanta Regional Hospital, the development of the 3-tier Sino Hydro interchange, and the redevelopment of the Takoradi Market Circle.
As of now, the exact perpetrators and the people behind this dubious action are yet to be known and brought to face justice.
