Nominations Are Opened For The Leading Women African Women In Food Fellowship
Do you know of any woman making waves in the food and agriculture industry in Africa? The African Food Council(AFC) is on the hunt for exceptional female leaders who are transforming the food ecosystem. The Leading African Women in Food Fellowship program is dedicated to showcasing and supporting young African women who are driving impact and innovation in this sector.
FELLOWSHIP OVERVIEW
The Leading African Women in Food Fellowship (LAWFF) is a six-month program that provides training, mentorship, and a supportive community for leaders and change makers in the food and agriculture industry in Africa.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR NOMINATIONS
The nominations are opened to:
- African women only
- Women between the ages of 25-40 years
- Women with at least 3 years working experience in the agric-food sector
- Women with demonstrable impact
- African women who are resident in an African country at the time of application.
FELLOWSHIP CATEGORIES
The fellowship categories include:
- Disruptors: Inventors, researchers etc. who create tools or use the power of technology to solve problems within the food ecosystem
- Trailblazers: Change makers who have made impactful contributions to the African food ecosystem
- Food/Beverage Narrative Changers: Story-tellers that create content and connect people to different African foods and beverages. Examples; food bloggers, content creators, journalists and so on.
- Top Chefs in Africa: Individuals who through their creative cooking methods are changing the narratives surrounding African cuisine.
- Ecosystem Enablers: Private, Public and Non-profit leaders that contribute to a more sustainable and inclusive food system.
SELECTION PROCESS
Nominees are assessed by an expert panel based on their impact, innovation and dedication to promoting the food and agriculture sector in Africa.
