Newcomma: The Creative Platform for African / Black Talents to Thrive
An African man holding a plaque

Imagine a platform where African creatives can thrive, connect, and grow. Celebrating the rich cultural heritage and creative spirit of Africa, Newcomma's dedication to showcasing the continent's creativity is exceptional.

The platform is stepping up the way African skills and talents are discovered, celebrated, and shared with the world.

Newcomma provides a springboard for illustrators, singers, graphic designers, poets, videographers, and photographers, just to name a few, to get paid doing what they love to do. The free platform allows creatives to set up digital portfolios to showcase their skills and talents, connect with a community of like-minded individuals, access job opportunities, and also stay updated on industry trends and events.

One of the most exciting aspects of Newcomma is the NC FUND (Newcomma Creative Fund), a monthly microgrant to support a black or African creative. Each month, the NC fund provides £100 worth of grants to aid in the creative journey of one selected applicant. Application to this grant doesn't come at any cost.

To access the NC fund, one has to:

  • Create a profile on Newcomma.
  • Add three (3) projects to the online portfolio.
  • Fill in the application form. Be sure to include how you intend to use the microgrant if you are selected.
  • Wait to hear back from the selection team.

Applications submitted without a portfolio will not be considered for the grant.

Newcomma's impact extends far beyond a digital platform. The movement seeks to empower black/African creatives with the tools, resources, and exposure they need to succeed in today's digital economy.
