NDC Vows to Pursue Accountability and Prosecute Corrupt Officials
The National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, has pledged that the next NDC administration will rigorously pursue accountability and prosecute officials from the current New Patriotic Party (NPP) government.
Speaking at a rally in Somanya, Eastern Region, Asiedu Nketiah emphasized the NDC’s commitment to tackling corruption, reinforcing the promise made by NDC flagbearer John Dramani Mahama during the party’s manifesto launch at the University of Education, Winneba on August 24. He assured supporters that the NDC will investigate and prosecute all corrupt officials from the current administration, irrespective of their positions.
As President Mahama stated in Winneba, our government will act not out of greed but with a strong commitment to justice,” Asiedu Nketiah said. “Those who label the NDC as a frightening alternative are simply attempting to evade accountability. For those who have committed crimes, the prospect of facing justice should indeed be unsettling.
He dismissed concerns from NPP leaders about the NDC representing a “scary alternative,” arguing that such claims are attempts to deter voters by stoking fear. According to Asiedu Nketiah, these warnings are coming from those who are anxious about being held accountable for their actions.
If you are a thief or a criminal, then yes, our alternative should be frightening for you,” Asiedu Nketiah declared. “Under an NDC government, corrupt individuals will not escape punishment.
The NDC’s pledge to tackle corruption and seek justice is a central theme of their campaign, as they aim to build trust and demonstrate their commitment to integrity and good governance.
