NDC Lauds Speaker Of Parliament

The NDC has hailed the Speaker of Parliament, Rt. Hon. Alban Bagbin, for sustaining great leadership to steer affairs in Ghana's Parliament. In a press statement copied to the media today, it conveyed profound appreciation for the role of Speaker Bagbin in maintaining the dignity and independence of Parliament, as well as protecting the interests of the Ghanaian people.

The NDC, in their statement, described the Speaker's actions as a "masterclass" in leadership. They noted how insistent he was on the rule of the parliamentary procedures to ensure that the integrity of the institution was upheld. "We applaud him for working in the interest of Parliament and the people of Ghana and enhancing the integrity of Parliament with his leadership," emphasized the statement.

Speaker Bagbin was praised for his delicate balancing act, whereby he would weave through all political interests to ensure that Parliament remained people-centered rather than being sidetracked by partisan interest. The NDC said this approach was essential for the continued independence of the legislative arm of government.

The NDC also praised the party's Majority Caucus in Parliament for their steadfast devotion to the democratic process. According to the party, the firmness exhibited by the Majority Caucus is an inspiration to Ghanaian citizens as a means of affirming that the power to govern must be kept in the hands of the people.

The statement, signed by the NDC General Secretary Hon.
