The Ghana Police Service says it is still on a manhunt for suspect Fatau Motorway.

Fatau Motorway was seen in a viral video brandishing a gun during the clash between supporters of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) at Mamobi in Accra. 

The Ghana Police Service is still on a manhunt for suspect Fatau Motorway, who has been declared wanted in connection with the disturbances that occurred between supporters of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) at Mamobi, Accra, on October 13, 2024,” police explained in a brief statement.

The Police are appealing to the public to support Police intelligence-led efforts by providing information that could lead to his arrest.

"A reward of Twenty Thousand Cedis (GH₵ 20,000.00) is being offered for anyone who provides credible information leading to his arrest," the statement concluded.

Background 

A violent clash between supporters of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) occurred on the 13th of October, 2024 at Mamobi. 

The political confrontation, which escalated into a violent altercation, resulted in injuries to nine individuals, stirring tensions within the community.

The police acted swiftly to bring the situation under control and have since initiated efforts to apprehend the perpetrators responsible for the unrest.
