National Cathedral: Abena Osei-Asare Acknowledges Room for Improvement
Minister of State designate at the Finance Ministry, Abena Osei-Asare, has admitted that the management of the National Cathedral project in Ghana could have been more efficient.
During her testimony before the Appointments Committee of Parliament on Wednesday, March 13, Osei-Asare acknowledged the need for improvements in overseeing the ambitious undertaking.
Expressing her personal connection to the project as a Christian, Abena Osei-Asare stated, "I think we could have handled it better than what we have done, that I must admit." She emphasized the importance of robust oversight and management to ensure the successful completion of such a significant national initiative.
Abena Osei-Asare highlighted the crucial role of the Board of Trustees in fundraising efforts to support the project's advancement. While the government has provided initial funding, she stressed the importance of the trustees in mobilizing additional resources to realize the vision of the National Cathedral.
"The National Cathedral is also overseen by trustees, who are tasked with raising funds to help complete the project," Osei-Asare explained. "The government has contributed its seed fund, and now it is incumbent upon the trustees to play their part in securing further support."
The acknowledgment by Abena Osei-Asare underscores ongoing efforts to review and enhance the management of the National Cathedral project in Ghana, as well as the collective responsibility of stakeholders to ensure its successful realization.
