NAPO Implores US Businesses to Consider Ghanaians for Internships
Vice presidential aspirant on the ticket of the NPP, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh (NAPO), has called on US businesses to allow Ghanaian students abroad intern in their companies.
Prempeh said about 150 Ghanaian students are studying at the University of Memphis alone, underscoring the need for internships as the Ghanaian student population abroad grows.
Dr. Prempeh was addressing members of the Memphis Chamber of Commerce as part of his visit to the US. He added that generally, Ghanaians are disciplined people.
"We have a lot of Ghanaian students who are currently pursuing their academic goals here in the US.
"These Ghanaian students need field experience through internships in business organizations here in the US to support their development, so I'm urging you to support their development," Dr. Prempeh said.
NAPO added that Ghana presents numerous business opportunities for US businesspersons. He mentioned petrochemical, food processing, pharmaceuticals, and IT as major industries that are thriving and encouraged Americans to invest in Ghana.
He believes the NPP government has created a conducive enough atmosphere for business survival in Ghana, hence US businesses should take advantage of it.
