The
statue was unveiled to celebrate projects launched during
Akufo-Addo’s time in office. These projects include the renovation of the
Effia-Nkwanta Regional Hospital, the development of the 3-tier Sinohydro
interchange, and the redevelopment of the Takoradi Market Circle.
Residents are confused about how the statue, located in a quiet area far from
homes or heavy foot traffic, could have been vandalized without anyone
noticing. Some people believe the damage was intentional, while others think it
might be a result of a structural fault.
As the investigation continues, the police have vowed to track down those
responsible and bring them to justice.
