The family of 10-year-old Lisa Laryea, who is battling stage 4 acute myeloid leukemia, has expressed heartfelt gratitude to Mr. Ibrahim Mahama, CEO of Engineers & Planners, for his extraordinary support in funding her life-saving treatment.
Mr. Ibrahim Mahama generously covered the $110,000 required for Lisa to receive specialized medical care in South Africa.
In a statement filled with emotion, Lisa’s mother shared:
We are so, so much relieved. We thank God for today. We thank God for her life. It’s been a roller coaster seeing a child in pain and having little you can do. But we thank God that today has been the day the Lord has made it happen.
We thank God and each and everybody who was there for her. Mr. Ibrahim has that empathy towards humanity. When he sees someone in need, he goes all out, no matter the cost. He says, 'Guys, go out there, make sure you get it done because it’s not about the cost.'
We are going to South Africa today for Lisa's treatment. Hopefully, by the time we get back, she should be fit.
Lisa’s story gained attention after her diagnosis and a televised appeal for help. Ibrahim Mahama’s swift intervention to fund the treatment highlights his commitment to humanitarian causes and has been met with widespread praise across Ghana.
This selfless act of kindness demonstrates the impact of philanthropic support on lives in need, as Lisa embarks on her journey to recovery with hope and optimism.
