Kwesi Appiah Might Return to Coach Black Stars– Ex-GFA Vice President
A former Ghana Football Association (GFA) Vice President, George Afriyie, has hinted that Kwesi Appiah could be open to coaching the Black Stars again in the future.
Afriyie’s comments follow Sudan’s 2-0 victory over Ghana in the second leg of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers, played on Tuesday at the Martyrs of February Stadium in Libya.
The Sudanese team, now managed by Appiah, previously held the Black Stars to a goalless draw in the first leg at the Accra Sports Stadium last Thursday.
Speaking on the recent successes Kwesi Appiah has chalked for the Sudanese team during an interview on Asempa FM, Mr. Afriyie asserted that Akwasi Appiah hopes to better his CV by taking Sudan to the AFCON, should the Black Stars coaching role become vacant.
Currently, Sudan leads Group B in the World Cup qualifiers with 10 points, remaining undefeated.
They will complete their AFCON qualifiers next month with matches against Niger and Angola before shifting their focus to the World Cup qualifiers in March next year.
