Kuami Eugene: Joyce Blessing Failed to Adequately Promote ‘Victory’

Highlife artist Kuami Eugene appeared on Hitz FM's Daybreak Hitz and didn't hold back on his opinions concerning gospel singer Joyce Blessing's promotion of her song "Victory." He says, in all honesty, he respects Joyce so much, but the promotions for "Victory" are below par compared to the unstoppable force of fellow artist Empress Gifty with her song "Watch Me."

According to Kuami Eugene, "Victory" had the potential to do well, but "I don't think she did justice to the song like Empress is doing." According to him, Empress Gifty has been working hard by performing at shows and keeping her online platforms busy. Eugene, however, indicated that Joyce Blessing, after "Victory" started doing well online, reduced her promotional activities.

He noted that the commitment shown by Empress Gifty is a lesson to artists who would want to make the most out of their songs. "It's been almost a month and it doesn't look like Empress Gifty is stopping anytime soon," he noted, commending her proactive approach in different regions, including Kumasi and the Eastern Region.

"Victory," which dropped in 2023, was a collaboration song written and composed by Kuami Eugene, who also acted as the creative director for its music video. The dual roles have proven to establish Eugene in the Ghanaian music scene as a songwriter worthy of respect, having written hits for other artists like MzVee and Kwame Yogot.

As the conversation of music promotion keeps evolving, Kuami Eugene's comments serve to remind the artist to use every available opportunity to engage his audience and extend the lifespan of his song far beyond its release date.
