Kanye West Slams Kendrick Lamar’s ‘Not Like Us’

Kanye West has openly criticized Kendrick Lamar’s Grammy-winning track "Not Like Us," a song that played a central role in the highly publicized feud between Lamar and Drake. Taking to his X page, the rap mogul made it clear that he strongly dislikes the song, further fueling discussions surrounding the hip-hop rivalry.

West’s remarks come amid a series of social media posts where he has been vocal about the music industry and his relationships with fellow artists.

The 24-time Grammy winner previously stated that he doesn’t enjoy listening to Kendrick Lamar, especially after the rapper’s recent feature on Playboi Carti’s album. “I didn’t need to hear Kendrick on this track,” West commented, reinforcing his disapproval.

His stance on "Not Like Us" aligns with his recent perspective on the ongoing Kendrick vs. Drake battle, which has been dubbed one of the most intense feuds in American hip-hop history.

While West has had a complicated relationship with Drake, he admitted to feeling jealousy toward the Canadian superstar. However, in an unexpected turn, he also declared his love for Drake and even requested that the rapper speak at his funeral.

Despite Kanye’s criticism, "Not Like Us" remains a monumental track. The song secured five awards at the 67th Grammys and was performed during Lamar’s record-breaking Super Bowl halftime show in 2025.

The controversy surrounding the song extends beyond music, as Drake has taken legal action against Universal Music, accusing them of allowing the song’s release despite lyrics that falsely claim he is a paedophile. Drake also alleges that Universal used unethical tactics to inflate the track’s popularity in an attempt to damage his career.

While Kanye West’s opinion may divide hip-hop fans, "Not Like Us" continues to dominate discussions, proving to be one of the most significant releases of the decade.
