Kafui Danku Shares Why She Is Currently Offscreen
Celebrated Ghanaian actress and producer, Kafui Danku, recently disclosed to Channel One TV's program The Chat that she is not emotionally ready to feature in any movies at the moment. Through her amazing and impressive performances in movies such as Any Other Monday, Alvina: Thunder and Lightning, and I Do, Kafui has grown into being among the most respected persons in the Ghanaian film industry.
Kafui, who is set to release her latest production, Fear Women & Look, on November 1, 2024, spoke on the reasons why she chose not to star in the film herself. "I enjoy the creative behind-the-scenes work, especially with content creation and series on social media." She proudly shared that her Kafui Danku Series, which she directs and produces, has given her an avenue to express her creative energy in new and exciting formats.
"I'm not emotionally ready," Kafui confessed, explaining why she needed to take a step away from acting. "For now, I'm enjoying creating content, and social media series. I shoot it, I direct it. I'm loving more of being behind the scenes." She admitted that in this new direction, she finds expression for her creativity quite satisfying and somehow less emotionally draining than starring in feature films.
While fans may miss her on-screen presence, they are sure to be pleased with the work she does behind the camera as one sensation after another keeps hitting the entertainment industry. With a new movie in the wings and her ever-growing social media presence, Kafui Danku's clout in Ghanaian cinema remains stronger than ever.
