John Mahama's FDI Strategy for Ghana: Focus on Key Sectors and 24-Hour Economy
Former President John Dramani Mahama, speaking at the Distinguished Speaker Series on Foreign Direct Investments (FDIs) organized by the American Chamber of Commerce and other partners, detailed his strategy to attract FDIs that will spur growth and create jobs in Ghana.
In his speech, Mahama outlined seven targeted areas crucial to his plan:
- Extractive, Mining, Oil, and Gas Sectors
- The Digital Economy
- The 24-Hour Economy
- The $10 Billion Infrastructural Development Programme (BIG PUSH)
- Export Ghana Policy
- Accelerated Export Development Programme
- Commercial Diplomacy
Mahama emphasized the importance of these sectors in his vision for a revitalized economy. He reiterated his commitment to creating a friendly investment climate and transforming Ghana into a 24-hour economy that is open for business around the clock.
