The flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama, made a hartfelt appeal for spiritual backing in his quest to lead the nation.

Emphasising the critical role spiritual leaders can play in the country's journey to recovery, Mahama urged the clergy to align themselfes with his vision of national renewal, highlighting the importance of divine intervention in tackling Ghana's current challenges.

Drawing on the biblical example of Joseph, who rescued Egypt from famine, Mr. Mahama likened his leadership aspirations to Joseph's mission, portraying himself as a vessel for divine guidance. He expressed his belief that, with the support of the clergy, he could steer Ghana towards healing, unity, and a brighter future.

Just as Joseph saved Egypt during trying times, I believe that together with the clergy’s guidance, we can rescue Ghana from its present difficulties, Mahama stated, caling for collaboration between spiritual leaders and his political agenda.

The former president stressed the need for unity and a shared mission in overcoming the nation's struggles, noting that the clergy's involvement would foster hope and resilience among Ghanaians. His appeal signals a broader strategy to integrate faith-based support into his campaign as he seeks a return to the presidency.

This call to the clergy reflects Mahama’s dedication to uniting various sectors of Ghanaian society, especially in these crucial moments leading to the upcoming election.
