Market-Oriented Value Chains for Jobs and Growth in the ECOWAS Region (MOVE)
This project focuses on strengthening cashew and rice value chains to foster job creation and income generation in West Africa, with ECOWAS as the primary political partner. Funded mainly by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), with support from the European Union and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, MOVE is active in Burkina Faso, Côte d'Ivoire, Ghana, Sierra Leone, Nigeria, and Senegal.

Scope of Role

Position: Junior Procurement Specialist
The Junior Procurement Specialist will support efficient procurement processes, ensuring compliance with GIZ’s standards and delivering value to the organization.

Tasks

• Ensure effective and transparent procurement processes in line with GIZ regulations.
• Execute local procurement of materials and services, including tendering and order processing.
• Maintain procurement and tender data.
• Verify invoices, waybills, payment instructions, and handle complaints.
• Develop procurement strategies to optimize sourcing and supplier selection.
• Identify suppliers and conduct market surveys for pricing.
• Manage vendor relationships and monitor supplier performance for compliance.
• Track inventory levels and forecast demand to ensure adequate stock.
• Stay informed on market trends, industry updates, and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications & Experience

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Administration, Procurement and Supply Chain Management, Logistics and Operations, or a related field.
• Experience: Minimum of 2 years in a similar position.
• Skills: Proficiency in MS Office Suite, effective cross-functional team collaboration, strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and solid writing abilities.
• Knowledge: Familiarity with procurement laws and regulations.
• Attributes: Ability to work in a multicultural environment and foster relationships across national and cultural backgrounds.
