Project Brief

Market-Oriented Value Chains for Jobs and Growth in the ECOWAS Region (MOVE)

The MOVE project builds resilient cashew and rice value chains to promote job creation and income in West Africa, with ECOWAS as the main political partner. The project, primarily funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), also receives support from the European Union and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. MOVE operates in Burkina Faso, Côte d'Ivoire, Ghana, Sierra Leone, Nigeria, and Senegal.

Scope of Role

Position: Junior Logistics Specialist

The Junior Logistics Specialist will provide essential logistics and fleet management support to the MOVE project.

Tasks

• Assist with logistics for training workshops and working group meetings.
• Support the procurement and management of office equipment and supplies.
• Oversee the maintenance and repair of office facilities and monitor ongoing work.
• Ensure the secure transport and storage of project assets.
• Keep an updated inventory of materials, equipment, and assets, and conduct routine inventory audits.
• Manage and organize stored goods, prioritizing safety and organization.
• Conduct routine checks on digital logbooks and organize servicing for project vehicles.

Qualifications & Experience

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Administration, Facility Management, Logistics and Operations, or a related field.
• Experience: At least 2 years in a similar position.
• Skills: Strong MS Office proficiency, effective cross-functional teamwork, organizational skills, and attention to detail.
• Attributes: Excellent written communication skills, adaptability to a multicultural environment, and the ability to foster positive working relationships.
