Project Brief
Promotion of the Rule of Law and the Judiciary in Africa
This project aims to improve access to justice for vulnerable populations—particularly women and economic stakeholders—in Côte d’Ivoire, Ghana, Senegal, and Tanzania. Key objectives include:
- Enhancing the ability of partner organizations to provide tailored legal services to vulnerable citizens.
- Expanding the capacity for effective legal services in out-of-court dispute resolution and civil/commercial law for economic stakeholders.
- Strengthening court systems to promote judicial independence, operational efficiency, and the digitalization of legal information for improved access.
Scope of Role
Position: Specialist - Financial and Administrative Support
The Specialist will provide comprehensive support in finance, administration, and event management to ensure the seamless execution of project operations. This role includes managing documentation, coordinating logistics, and supporting event planning to uphold GIZ’s operational standards.
Tasks
- Prepare contracts, verify completeness, and review financial documents from consultants and firms.
- Perform daily secretarial tasks and handle official correspondence with confidentiality.
- Coordinate travel logistics, including bookings, accommodations, and reimbursements.
- Oversee procurement, managing inventory, and office supplies for efficiency.
- Assist in organizing workshops, events, and field missions.
- Ensure adherence to GIZ’s financial and administrative policies across project activities.
- Conduct research on socio-economic issues, compiling data to inform project design.
- Maintain accurate project documentation, bookkeeping, and policy compliance.
Qualification Required & Experience
- Education: University degree in Finance, Business Administration, or similar field.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years in a comparable role; experience with GIZ or similar organizations preferred.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in IT and MS Office applications.
- Languages: Excellent English communication skills; knowledge of French is an advantage.
- Attributes: Strong organizational skills, ability to meet strict deadlines, and willingness to upskill as needed.
