Wesley College of Education is inviting applications from qualified candidates for the position of Finance Officer. The Finance Officer serves as the Chief Accounting Officer and the Chief Financial Advisor to the Principal. This role oversees the financial administration of the college, ensuring its financial health and compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
Job Summary:
The Finance Officer will:
- Oversee the collection of all legitimate revenue due to the college.
- Exercise control over expenditures in alignment with the college's objectives and budget.
- Prepare the annual budget of the college for approval and implementation by the governing bodies.
- Ensure that the financial statements comply with relevant laws, accounting standards, and college regulations.
- Liaise with external auditors to have the college’s financial statements audited.
Qualification Required & Experience:
- A Master’s Degree in Finance/Accounting or a related field.
- Must be a Chartered Accountant.
- Must have served as a Deputy Finance Officer in a College of Education or a comparable grade in a similar institution/organization for at least 4 years.

- Analytical, critical, result-oriented, innovative, and visionary thinking.
- Team-playing abilities and the capacity to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and supervisory skills.
- Strong IT skills and familiarity with relevant accounting software.
