Our Vision & Mission:

At Warc Africa, we envision a future where Africa nourishes the world while its farmers become stewards of its fertile soils. Our mission is straightforward: uplift farmers from poverty through regenerative farming practices. We've positively impacted the lives of over 100,000 people, increasing their income and improving livelihoods. Our rapid growth has created thousands of rural jobs and facilitated the movement of tens of thousands of tons of crops to feed the country. But we’re just getting started. Our vision extends beyond Ghana to West Africa and sub-Saharan Africa, where we aim to empower one million farmers, helping them generate hundreds of millions of dollars while becoming climate heroes in the process. Our Roots & Reach:

Born from hands-on experience, Warc Africa has grown into a diverse team of 250 full-time members from 16 countries. In Ghana's Upper West Region, we serve over 22,000 farmers and have a footprint in Sierra Leone, with eyes set across the continent. Our 100 female-run Trading Hubs put us closer to farmers than anyone else, allowing us to address issues related to productive inputs, knowledge, and markets. We’re ready to transform how we serve farmers across the continent.

About the Job:

As our Finance Officer, you’ll be central to Warc’s success. This year, we expect to work with 40,000 farmers across 5 districts in the Upper West Region, and our growth will only continue. Your responsibilities include proactively and efficiently handling internal controls and treasury tasks, including inventory counting, reconciliations, and cash audits. You will analyze discrepancies, post transactions in the inventory system, and implement corrective actions. Additionally, you will support the external audit process in areas under your responsibility.

Responsibilities & Deliverables:

Treasury

• Perform cash counting in different locations, analyze discrepancies, and report irregularities.
• Conduct periodic and surprise cash counts, investigating discrepancies.

Inventory Control

• Coordinate weekly and monthly physical counts, informing line management of controls exercised and differences found.
• Reconcile balances between books and physical counts.

Internal Control

• Promote best internal control practices to ensure proper authorization of transactions and maintain segregation of duties.
• Conduct petty cash, inventory, and fixed assets counts.
• Collaborate with external audit work to complete statutory and project audits.

Basic Qualification:
Essential:

• Diploma in accounting preferred.
• Minimum of one year of experience in treasury functions, data entry, finance accounting, account analysis, and reconciliations.

Preferable:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.

Essential:

• Proficient in QuickBooks and MS Excel.
• Good attitude, flexible, organized, interdependent, and service-minded.
• Results-oriented rather than focused on working hours.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in work.

Preferable:

• Working experience in QuickBooks or similar systems.
