Wesley College of Education is inviting applications from qualified candidates for the position of College Secretary. The College Secretary serves as the Head of the College Secretariat and is responsible for overseeing all administrative, secretarial, and personnel functions of the college.
Job Summary:
The College Secretary will:
- Assist the Principal in the administration and management of the college.
- Ensure the effective functioning of all boards and standing committees.
- Serve as Secretary to the College Council, its committees, and statutory committees.
- Manage human resources and handle administrative matters.
- Maintain inventory and manage the college's assets.
- Oversee admissions, organize examinations, and publish results.
- Organize official ceremonies such as matriculation, congregation, and convocation.
Qualification Required & Experience:
- A good first degree and a postgraduate degree, preferably in Administration or a Management-related field.
- Must have served as a Deputy Secretary in a College of Education or held a comparable position in a similar institution/organization for at least 4 years.
- Strong IT skills with familiarity in relevant administrative software.
- Must be analytical, critical, result-oriented, innovative, and visionary.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and supervisory skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Term of Office:
- The appointment is full-time for a term of 4 years. The applicant must be able to complete one term before reaching the compulsory retirement age of 60.
