IMANI's PULSE reports that 82% of people support Mahama's call for change
IMANI's PULSE Episode 11 offers fascinating insights into the social media campaign performance of former President John Dramani Mahama and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the run-up to Ghana's 2024 elections.
The analysis, which examined more than 20,000 posts between August and October 10, 2024, presents a generally positive outlook for the NDC. Notably, 72% of respondents said they were excited with Mahama's campaign and the NDC. Almost 70% of discussions on his vows were positive, with only 30% being negative.

Mahama's promises of a "24-hour economy" and economic rebirth have been well received by online audiences. Contextualizing public opinion, IMANI's emotional analysis depicts that 41% of the responses showed admiration and 36% expressed disinterest.
Despite some reservations, only 18% of responses indicated contempt or rage, suggesting that the public's response was largely positive.
With 82% of comments being positive, online opinion is overwhelmingly in favor of Mahama's campaign, which centers on his call for change.
His growing online influence has been propelled by promises of rapid economic growth, youth-focused policies, and religious endorsements. Mahama's absence from the presidential debates has drawn criticism, though, and his record on infrastructure remains a divisive topic that elicits unfavorable reactions.
