Government of Mauritius Scholarships for Africans in 2025/2026
GENERAL OVERVIEW
The Government of Mauritius is offering scholarships to deserving individuals from the African Union or the African Commonwealth countries for the 2025/2026 academic year. These scholarships aim to promote capacity building across the continent and support students pursuing higher education in Mauritius.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
- Be a citizen of an African Union or an African Commonwealth country.
- Demonstrate a strong academic record and commitment to development.
- Be available to study in Mauritius from July/September 2025.
- Have already applied for full-time on-campus studies at a public higher education institution in Mauritius.
- Not be in receipt of another scholarship from a public source in Mauritius.
- Age limits: undergraduate (18-25 years), Mphil/PHD (under 40 years) as of January 1st, 2026

- Duration: 3-4 years (undergraduate), 2 years (masters), 3 years (PHD)
- Value: tuition fees, stipends, airfare, accommodation support

How To Apply
- Visit the Mauritius Government Scholarship website.
- Choose and apply to a program from one of the eligible higher institutions.
- Submit relevant documents to the nominating agency in your home country.
- Complete and submit a National Endorsement form with your application.
- Submit supporting documents, including a research proposal and a statement (for MPHIL/PHD applicants).
- Confirm submission and wait for the announcement of successful candidates.
