Ghana Music Xperience Streaming Platform Officially Launched

The Ghana Music Industry celebrated a new milestone as GMX, otherwise known as the Ghana Music Xperience streaming platform, was officially launched. The GMX streaming platform aims to put together the rich musical heritage of Ghana, coupled with modern sounds, in order to give Ghanaians a better way of connecting with their favorite music.

GMX is a proudly Ghanaian-made streaming platform, made by Ghanaians. This provides access to an expansive catalog of local music genres that encompasses traditional rhythms, highlife, hiplife, gospel, and afrobeat, among others. Offering an instinctive user experience, it will no doubt be the default platform for established artists and rising stars alike as listeners explore both chart-topping hits and new sounds throughout the country.

The launch event brought together big shots in Ghana's entertainment industry, as well as government officials. The special guest of honor at the occasion was the Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, who launched the platform and said he was proud that Ghana could develop its own streaming app. "This is a historic moment for Ghana," Dr. Bawumia noted.

Notable guests at the event included Mr. Andrew Egyapa Mercer, Minister for Tourism, Creative Arts, and Culture; Bessa Simons, President of MUSIGA; and Mr. Akwesi Agyeman, CEO of the Ghana Tourism Authority. Local music stars like rapper E.L., Zapp Mallet, Samini, and Kaywa were in to join in the celebration with the chiefs in the industry. King Ayisoba's enthralling performance introduced guests to the musical traditions of Ghana and set the pace for GMX's journey.

With GMX, Ghanaians now have an opportunity to experience a unique and immersive music experience that celebrates the roots and future of Ghanaian music.
