Ghana Has Shown Me Love Than Nigeria- Nigerian Singer Oxlade
Fast-rising Nigerian Afrobeats singer, Oxlade, surprisingly revealed in a recent interview that as an artist, he has gotten more love from Ghana than from his home country.
He talked to Blogger Jaiden about his music journey and how tough it has been trying to make his music loved back home.
Oxlade made sure to mention how the feature of Ghanaian rap legend Sarkodie on his debut album "Oxlade from Africa" is simply because of the warm welcome he receives anytime he steps into Ghana. According to him, this reflects the love and respect earned from Ghanaian fans. This openness by the country keeps him almost free from the stressors he faces in Nigeria.

To talk about his struggles back in his home country, Oxlade shed light on how some earlier social media posts he had posted, saying that he was boycotted and blackmailed by the music industry veterans or "OGs." The artiste said that people in the music industry of Nigeria try to exert control over his career trajectory, sometimes for the most trifling reasons, including accusations of being disrespectful or failing to greet them properly.
Despite these frustrations, however, Oxlade has not made an issue of these but has refused to call people out. He is focused on his music, and he has made it clear he does not need other people to create his success.
"I hate the mindset of people trying to play god," he shared, stressing that his journey is one he was bent on shaping.
Meanwhile, Ghana is still showering Oxlade with love, as the saying goes music knows no boundaries.
