The urgent need to stop illicit mining (galamsey) has been underlined by chiefs from Prasu kuma, Afusu, and Asuom, among others, in the Eastern Region. Since local waterways are still suffering from the destructive impacts of uncontrolled mining, Nana Akrasi Sarpong II of Agona Bosome Palace requested Alan Kyerematen's team to give this matter top priority. He called attention to the River Kosiko as one of the most severely impacted and expressed hope that Alan Kyerematen's leadership will respond quickly.

Speaking to the chiefs, Mrs. Kyerematen gave them her word that, under her husband's direction, mining operations would be better regulated in coordination with traditional leaders and sustainable techniques would be implemented to rehabilitate contaminated water bodies.

The backing of Eastern Region leaders highlights Alan Kyerematen's campaign's increasing traction. As a much-needed alternative to the current political elite, chiefs have applauded his decision to start the Movement for Change. Many people think that his exit from the New Patriotic Party (NPP) was a good sign that something significant was about to happen.

The Gaasehene, Nana Obrempong Kwesi Amoh Kyiritwie, welcomed the Movement for Change team and supported Alan Kyerematen's candidacy at the Akyem Kotoku Palace. The GTP's depth, which includes restoring chiefs' participation in governance and making them co-trustees of the country's wealth, was praised by the chief. He urged the campaign to properly convey Mr. Kyerematen's proposals to the people and showed faith in his leadership.

"Under the Great Transformational Plan, chiefs will serve as co-trustees of the nation's lands and resources," said Mr. George Streeter, Eastern Regional Coordinator, speaking on behalf of the Caravan team, underscoring Alan Kyerematen's vision of restoring the chieftaincy institution to a central role in governance. This demonstrates Mr. Kyerematen's strong regard for traditional leaders and his intention to form a government that collaborates with chiefs to improve administration.

Additionally, Streeter emphasized that the GTP will depart from the conventional manifestos, which have not succeeded in bringing about a substantial change in the nation.Chief of Afram Place in Donkorkrom, Nana Daseebre Akwamah Boateng Tona II, echoed the plea for change and called for help for mechanized farming in particular to increase agricultural production in his community.

He emphasized that if given the right resources, Afram Place's enormous landmasses could provide food for the entire country. Streeter responded by promising the chief that these issues will be resolved by Alan Kyeremateng's Agricultural Revolution program under the GTP, saying,“With the right investment and support, Afram Place will be able to feed the entire nation.
