Fully Funded ISTA Ph.D. Scholarship Program 2025 in Austria

The Institute of Science and Technology Austria (ISTA) is now accepting applications for its Ph.D. Scholarship Program 2025.

This is a fantastic opportunity for students with a strong background in biology, chemistry, neuroscience, mathematics, computer science, physics, data science, scientific computing, and related areas to pursue their Ph.D. studies in Austria.

Due to a recent data loss incident, applicants who have already started or submitted an application will need to recreate and resubmit their documents, including referee details and references. ISTA encourages early applications, though the timing of your submission will not affect your chances of admission.

Eligibility Criteria:

ISTA welcomes students from diverse academic backgrounds. Here’s what the selection committee considers:

• Academic Performance: Special focus on relevant field-specific courses in your undergraduate or master’s studies.
• Reference Letters: Preferably from professors and senior scientists. One letter from industry is acceptable, but academic references are prioritized.
• Statement of Purpose: Your research experience, motivation for applying, and how this Ph.D. program aligns with your future career plans.
• Additional Relevant Skills: Such as internships, participation in research projects, programming languages, lab techniques, etc.
• Transferable Skills: Including communication, teamwork, leadership, and international experiences.
• Diversity: Consideration is given to underrepresented groups, such as women in STEM fields or applicants who have switched academic disciplines.

• Statement of Purpose: 1-2 pages explaining your research experience and motivation. Specify up to three research groups of interest.
