EC To Present Provisional Voters' Register Online
The Electoral Commission of Ghana is scheduled to re-exhibit the Provisional Voter's Register online from 15 to 19 October 2024. This aligns with discussions held on 1 October 2024 with key stakeholders, including political parties, under the auspices of the Inter-Party Advisory Committee (IPAC).
This new re-exhibition process aims for transparency and an accurate voter register for the impending general elections in the country.
In its pursuit of an accessible voter verification process, the EC intends to have all registered voters verify their details remotely. Citizens are encouraged to either dial *711*51# or visit the official website of the EC to verify their information on the Provisional Voter's Register. The online platforms will ease the process and reduce the number of people who would have visited the various EC offices.
All voters are invited to verify their information for any discrepancy in their registration and report to the respective District Offices for updating. It is important because it ensures the integrity of the electoral roll for the correctness of each eligible voter to be represented in the register.
Further, the Commission called upon all political parties to join the process positively. The Commission has provided a template for assistance to the parties regarding reporting of inconsistencies found by them. The EC has sought to work with the political parties and all other stakeholders in developing this verification process to be robust and transparent.
