EC Recalls Ballot Papers in Ahafo and Volta Regions Over Serialisation Issues

With just a few days left until the general elections, the Electoral Commission (EC) has recalled the ballot papers for the Ahafo and Volta regions due to serialisation issues affecting both the presidential and parliamentary ballots.

The EC has stated that while the printing of ballot papers has generally progressed smoothly, the issue of serialisation has been a thorn in their path. Speaking at an IPAC meeting on Friday to address the matter, Samuel Tetteh, the Deputy Commissioner in charge of Operations at the Electoral Commission, explained, “whilst the printing of the ballots have gone down very well. The challenge faced by the Commission has been with the serialization   of the numbers on the ballot papers.” He further clarified that the Commission has decided to recall the affected ballot papers, stating, “Gaps still exist and the Commission   has taken the decision to recall the ballot papers for the Ahafo and the volta regions”
