East Legon Accident: Vigil Held for Two Dead Victims
On Friday, October 18, 2024, the East Legon community came together to honour the memories of Justine Agbenu and Maame Dwomoh, two students of Cornerstone International Academy.
The lives of the two girls were tragically cut short in an infamous car accident on October 12 involving the son of Bishop Salifu Amoako, Elrad Amoako.
Families, friends, and classmates gathered, holding candles and flowers, to pay tribute to the two girls whose futures were cruelly interrupted.
In the face of tragedy, East Legon stood united, offering comfort to the grieving families.
The attendees dropped loads of flowers at the accident site to show their unwavering support and bereavement.
The accident
The unfortunate accident which claimed the lives of the two girls occurred on October 12, 2024 at East Legon.
At the Mensah Wood Avenue (T-Junction), East Legon, Accra, a Jaguar vehicle at top speed ran into an Acura the girls were sitting in at the backseat. Both vehicles immediately caught fire after an electric pole landed on them, thus exploding.
Bishop Salifu Amoako earlier issued an emotional apology to the bereaved families on behalf of his son whose error claimed two lives.
