Dr. Bawumia Urges Ghana Armed Forces to Safeguard Democracy
Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia was the guest of honour at the graduation ceremony for Course 45 and the Master of Science in Defence and International Politics at the Ghana Armed Forces Command and Staff College (GAFCSC) in Accra.
In his address, Dr. Bawumia praised the Ghana Armed Forces for their pivotal role in ensuring that Ghana’s democracy stands as a model for the subregion. He urged the armed forces to continue protecting this hard-won reputation with dedication and vigilance.
Dr. Bawumia also highlighted the growing threat of misinformation and disinformation, particularly as Ghana approaches its presidential and parliamentary elections in December. He stressed the importance of guarding against these negative influences, which can undermine national development.
“I congratulate all the graduates and wish them the best of luck in all their future endeavours,” Dr. Bawumia added, commending the graduates for their hard work and commitment to service.
