Black Sherif, also known as Mohammed Ismail Sherif, is the most recent celebrity to denounce the harm that illegal mining, or galamsey, is causing to our forest reserves and waterways.

The "Kwaku the Traveller" hitmaker took some time during his performance last night at the annual Tidal Rave event, which is held at the La Palm Royal Beach Hotel and has as its theme "Catch the Sun," to highlight footage of how galamsey is gradually harming our water bodies and forest reserves.

The spectators in attendance seemed to connect with the pictures as they were screaming his name, "Blacko, Blacko," the entire time.

Celebrities like Gyakie and Dr. Likee have publicly expressed their disdain for illegal mining, and the 22-year-old is the latest to voice his unhappiness with it. Dr. Likee has stated that the public should expect his yet-to-be-aired movie on Galamsey.

The event had to start at 4pm due to yesterday's early downpour, but fans turned out in large numbers to enjoy themselves and see some delicious acts.

The audience was electrified the entire time thanks to incredible performances from R2Bees, Edem, Kwesi Arthur, Pappy Kojo, KiDi, and others. With performances that will never be forgotten, each of the artists maintained a high degree of excitement.
