Bayreuth International Graduate School for African Studies (BIGSAS) Scholarship for 2025
The Bayreuth International Graduate School for African Studies (BIGSAS) at the University of Bayreuth, Germany is offering scholarships for African women scholars through the Graduate School Scholarship program (GSSP) by the GERMAN ACADEMIC EXCHANGE SERVICE (DAAD).
The scholarship offers a comprehensive support package that goes beyond financial assistance, providing a nurturing academic environment that fosters professional growth, development and excellence in African studies.
BENEFITS OF THE SCHOLARSHIP
- Full funding for up to four (4) years.
- German language course in summer 2025 (if required)

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
- African women scholars with a masters or equivalent degree completed within the past six years
- Applicants who have not been residing in Germany for over fifteen(15) months prior to the start of the scholarship
- Proficiency in English, German, or French.

- Academic credentials
- Two letters of recommendation
- Proof of language proficiency.
