Bawumia Rejects NDC Claims of Allowing Fulanis to Destroy Farmlands

At a recent ‘Bawumia Connect’ event on November 13, Vice President and presidential candidate Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia addressed his supporters, strongly rejecting claims made by the NDC. He assured the crowd that the rumors suggesting he would allow Fulani herdsmen to destroy people’s farms under his presidency are completely false.

“Fulani people, are you here?” Bawumia began, engaging the crowd. “I am hearing that there is some propaganda that when I become president, you will be allowed to destroy people’s farms. Those are lies,” he said. “Everybody will be treated by the law. Don’t listen to that propaganda that we are going to give Fulanis power to destroy your farm crops—all these are lies. It will not happen, so ignore that propaganda,” he urged.

Dr. Bawumia emphasized unity among supporters and encouraged them to focus on the party’s collective vision. “We should all be united and vote for number one,” he said, referring to the ballot position of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

He also took the opportunity to praise Gifty Ndoma, the NPP parliamentary candidate. “All of you have seen what Gifty Ndoma, the parliamentary candidate, has done for you. She has not been a member of parliament before, but she has done so much for you,” Bawumia said. He promised that if elected, he would ensure that Ndoma receives further responsibilities to continue supporting her community. “Vote for her, number one,” he concluded, rallying his audience’s support for the party’s candidates.
