Bawumia: I’ll Establish Mechanisation Centres in Every District
NPP Flagbearer Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia is still going strong with his promises to Ghanaians to persuade them to vote in his favour in the 2024 elections.
According to the vice-president, one major project he would undertake if voted as president would be to establish mechanisation centres in every district of Ghana.
His aim is to boost agriculture. This initiative, Bawumia emphasized, would serve as a cornerstone of his administration’s efforts to prioritize the needs and concerns of farmers if he is elected president in the upcoming December 7 polls.
During a campaign rally at Juapong, in the Volta Region, Bawumia noted that the challenges farmers faced in Ghana have persisted for too long.
He expressed his determination to alleviate their burdens by providing them with the much-needed support and resources to scale up their operations.
"We are going to help the farmers. I want to focus on agriculture. Our farmers need help. They need irrigation. They need equipment. They need tractors. They need combined harvesters. They need planters. I am going to set up a district mechanisation centre in every district in Ghana. Our farmers will have the equipment to farm," he stated.
Bawumia noted that the farmers' continued dependence on rain for irrigation was unsustainable and made them vulnerable to climate change. Thus, he plans to construct irrigation systems for the farmers.
In other news, Bawumia earlier asserted that he was only interested in building an all-inclusive government in Ghana.
