Balotelli Makes Dramatic Serie A Return After Signing For Genoa

Balotelli last played in the Italian top flight for Brescia in the 2019/2020 season when he scored five goals in 19 games.

The 34-year-old was a free agent after bringing his second stint at Turkish side Adana Demirspor to a close this summer.

Balotelli has signed a contract with Alberto Gilardino's side until the end of the season.

Genoa are struggling in Serie A after posting a solitary win in nine attempts so far this season.

They lie 18th on the league log and host Fiorentina on Thursday when Balotelli could make his debut.

“I am pumped. I don’t want to talk much. I just want to get started,” Balotelli said on Monday after signing his contract.

“I’ll give it my all,” he added, addressing the fans.

The former Italy international counts both Milan clubs, Manchester City, Liverpool, Nice, Olympique Marseille and Monza among his former clubs.
