Akua Donkor Passes Away At 72
Presidential candidate and flagbearer of the Ghana Freedom Party, Madam Akua Donkor, sadly passed away yesterday after a short illness.
According to sources, Akua Donkor was down with a short illness to which she was admitted at the Accra Regional Hospital, where she passed away in the last hours of October 28.

As many may know her, Akua Donkor hails from Afigya Kwabre in the Ashanti Region and was known as a trader and farmer. To celebrate her efforts in agriculture, she was once adjudged the best farmer in her district, surpassing most men, and that is what brought her to the limelight. She spoke highly of the marginalized and the poor and aimed to make this country a better place for all.

Due to her outspoken nature, she ventured into the world of politics to help women in agriculture. One of her popular policies was to make loans accessible to female farmers and also assist women who were sent to jail for debt they could not pay.
This year, she had successfully picked up her form and was number three on the ballot paper hoping she would live to see December 7. It is sad to know that she is no longer with us, and may her soul rest in perfect peace.
