Afenyo-Markin: We will not give NDC a lawlessness platform to disturb Ghana’s peace
Following the NDC MPs' assumption of the House's majority seats on Tuesday, October 22, the NPP MPs, led by party leader Afenyo-Markin, have resumed their various positions in Parliament. Afenyo-Markin asserts that the NPP is a nonviolent party and will not submit to any "lawlessness" on the side of the NDC.
The Effutu MP told reporters in the House on Tuesday, that they would not do anything to disrupt the nation's tranquility.
“NPP our tradition is a law-abiding tradition. Our forebearers have been peaceful. The country is hereby informed that we will not give them (NDC) that lawlessness platform that they seek.
We know there are innocent Ghanaians going about their business, innocent Ghanaians in academia, we care about them. We understand that there is politics but we will do it in a civil manner.

“NPP is a peaceful party. We will not allow anybody to disturb the peace of this country,” he said. In anticipation of a recall of a session by the Speaker of Parliament, the NPP Members of Parliament have returned to their offices within the House.
Bagbin's announcement that four seats were up for grabs automatically placed the NDC in the House's majority caucus.
However, the NPP MPs filed an ex-parte request to halt the Speaker's declaration's execution in the Supreme Court, contesting the Speaker's declaration.
Following the Supreme Court's decision, both House parties are now awaiting Speaker Bagbin's next move. Nonetheless, they have both asserted that they are the Parliamentary Majority Caucuses.
